Dr. Ford, present resident of Balsham place reports he had
visit from a John Haylock living in Brighton (now residing in
Hove) who said his family came from Balsham, having lived in Balsham
Place.
Balsham Place is
a Regency style house with curved stairwell in center hall, large
formal drawng room and smaller drawing room on right, dining room
on left, further down left hall is servant's hall on one side
and kitchen on the other. there used to be a laundry and buttery
or dairy in the bottom floor of a wing off that side and a nursery
area above with servants quarters. there is a large park or garden
out front with a curved drive.
